Engage is On the Ground @ LZ Lambeau – Follow us!

May 22nd, 2010  |  by Engage Wisconsin Published in Best of Engage WI, Engage WI, Updates  |  1 Comment

The EngageWisconsin team has been roaming the grounds of LZ Lambeau, collecting stories from Vietnam Veterans and their families. Crossing all forms of media, we have been posting essays, photographs, audio, music, and web shorts online since arriving yesterday and will continue to do so throughout the weekend. Next week, we’ll be posting longer, more in-depth materials collected of the weekend. Please do return to our online storytelling project to hear the voices of Wisconsin Vietnam Vets and participants of LZ Lambeau: A Welcome Home.

My wife and I spent Friday and Saturday at LZ Lambeau Welcome Home. It was a humbling and rewarding experience. I think the comment that summed it up the best was made by another Vietnam Veteran when he said, “We went over alone, we came home alone, but here we are all finally together.” There were a lot of tears, a lot of smiles and a lot of hand shakes with fellow Vietnam Veterans. Thanks to everyone that made this possible.
