LYNNE BLINKENBERG, Director of Community Engagement
Lynne is a member of Wisconsin Public Television’s senior leadership team and is responsible for directing staff activities that engage the community beyond broadcast, including events, screenings, discussions, community forums, and developing web and print materials based on national and local content. She has worked at WPT since 1996. In 2002, Blinkenberg was named the Outreach Professional of the Year by the National Center for Outreach.
MAGGIE MESSITT, EngageWisconsin Editor and Multimedia Producer
Maggie has worked as a writer and editor for more than 13-years. She has experience in documentary film, broadcast news, community newspapers, literary magazines, digital storytelling projects, and book-length immersion journalism. A bulk of her work has been based in southern Africa where she lived for more than six years. Since arriving at WPT, Maggie has spearheaded the EngageWisconsin project, an online community engagement initiative in support of Reel2Real public documentary screenings and WPT/PBS Programming.
A 2010 Multimedia Reporting and Convergence Fellow for the Knight Digital Media Center, Maggie has focused on media engagement via the production of digital storytelling projects, daily bloggers across the state, and a weekly interactive podcast, taking Wisconsin residents behind-the-scenes and inside topics covered by WPT/PBS programming.
AMELIA PISAPIA, EngageWisconsin Editorial Assistant and Multimedia Producer
Amelia has worked internationally as an editorial intern for Liberal Democrat News (UK) and a communications intern for Jesuit Refugee Services, a refugee organization based out of Rome, Italy. She hopes to go into foreign correspondence and is most interested in issues of migration, in particular the plight of refugees and forcibly displaced populations. During the summer of 2010, Amelia worked as a Multimedia Projects Intern for Wisconsin Public Television, specifically as a field reporter for LZ Lambeau’s storytelling project and as project coordinator and multimedia producer for Big Top Wisconsin: A PBS Circus Storytelling Project.
